The European Organization for Nuclear Research, better known as CERN, is a research organization that boasts the largest particle physics lab in the world. Was created in 1954 and is composed of 22 member states with Israel being the only non-European country with full membership. It's main purpose is to provide the particle accelerators and other infrastructure required to perform high-energy physics research. Outside of its high end physics work it is known as the home of the World Wide Web.
